Reunion Held at Carder Home
A family reunion was held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. John Carder, of west of Delphos, Sunday, about thirty guests being present. An elaborate picnic dinner was served at noon and a number of outdoor sports were enjoyed during the course of the day. Those present were Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Hoffman and family and Dave Hoffman, of Kalida, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Carder and family, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Gremling and family, Mrs. and Mrs. Joseph Frederick, Mr. and Mrs. William Carder, Leonard Kroeger, Alfred Reindel, and Mr. and Mr. John Carder and family.

Answers Death Call Saturday At His Home
John Carder Passes Away at Home West of Delphos Saturday Morning at 2:10 O'clock - Gallstones Named as Cause of Death - Funeral Arrangements Not Made Pending Arrival of Word from Distant Relative.
John Carder was called by death to his reward Saturday morning at 2:10 o'clock at his home about one mile west of Delphos. His death was due to gallstones. Mr. Carder had been in falling health for several years past and became bedfast about two weeks ago. He was born in Putnam county, north of Delphos to Abbott and Clara Carder on March 2, 1862. He was sixty-five years, five months and twenty-five days of age at the time of his passing. At the age of twenty-one years, he was married in this city to Miss Margaret Baker and to this union, eleven children were born. Two sons, John N. and Albert Carder preceded their father in death. His entire life was spent in Delphos and vicinity. During the past thirty-three years he resided at the farm on which he died. He leaves to mourn his passing his wife and the following children: Mrs. Tillie Hoffman, of Columbus Grove; Mrs. Ida Rupert, of Phoenix, Ariz.; Frank Carder, of north of Delphos; Mrs. Nelllie Gremling, Delphos; Joseph Carder, at home; Mrs. Rose Friedrich, of west of Delphos; William Carder, at home; Mrs. Rose Friedrick of west of Delphos; William Carder, of west of Delphos; and Misses Florence and Bertha Carder, at home. Twenty-two grandchildren, three brothers, Arthur Carder, of north of Delphos; Peter and Thomas Carder, Delphos; three sisters, Mrs. Tillie Pothast, of Fort Jennings; Mrs. Margaret Horstman, of north of Delphos, and Mrs. Pauline Kerschner, of Delphos also survive. In addition to his relative, he leaves a host of friends who will feel deeply their loss in his passing. Arrangement concerning the funeral have not as yet been made pending word from a relative from a distance.
