He was born March 29, 1908 in Canaan Township, the son of the late Joseph T and Laura D (Hines) Morton. He was a lifetime resident of Morrow County ad a retired farmer. He was a former member of Canaan Grange. His marriage was to Helen Hershner Burkepile on Oct 5, 1932, at North Woodbury, and she survives. Other survivors are three sons and their spouses, Walter and Donna Morton, Galena, Robert and Joyce Morton, Bucyrus, and John and Christina Morton, Edison; one daughter and son-in-law, Mary and Charles Hawk, Edison; 11 grand-children and 9 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by four brothers, Ramo, Orville, Andrew and Salo; and one sister, Rozella Smith. Friends may call Tuesday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at Gompf Funeral Home, Cardington, where the funeral will be held Wednesday at 1 p.m. with Rev. David McKinnon officiating.
