Came to America to Glandorf, Germany. They moved to Delphos, Ohio and settled in Section 11, Washington Township, Van Wert Co., Ohio where he purchased 40 acres which he cleared to farm. He continued to purchase more land and had acquired about 200 acres at the time of his death. Henry worked on the Miami-Erie Canal and took his pay out in land. (60) acres. He worked and bought 60 more acres. When he dies he owned 180 acres. It was divided into 3 farms.
